Jared Blumenfeld

Jared Blumenfeld was named the Inaugural President of the Waverley Street Foundation (a more than $3 billion climate and community organization) in August 2022. Blumenfeld was California's Environmental Protection Secretary. He is a national climate leader with a track record of delivering results for frontline and underserved communities. At the Waverley Street Foundation, Blumenfeld will champion actions that support the groundbreaking work being done in communities across the globe to urgently reduce carbon pollution. Prior to his leadership at CalEPA, Blumenfeld served as Regional Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the Pacific Southwest, which covers Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, the Pacific Islands and 148 tribal nations. He has hiked from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail, hosted an environmental podcast Podship Earth, has worked in China, India, Europe, Africa, and the Americas to protect more than 8 million acres of wildlife habitat. Jennifer Wells Green

Jennifer Wells Green assumed leadership of The Museum as its new Executive Director effective July 1. As Executive Director, she will lead the vision and strategic direction of the 50-year-old arts education organization. She has spent her career working in every facet of the arts, and for the last two decades in development working at the intersection of the arts and education at the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture and the Hammer Museum. She has committed her career to building institutions that amplify community engagement and individual curiosity, understanding the profound impact that both have on individuals and communities. She began her career at Walker Art Center in Minneapolis before moving into a curatorial role at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Green was also curator of the PaineWebber (now UBS) Art Collection and a Vice President at Citibank Art Advisory.2022. Read more here.

Cheryl Holcomb-McCoy, PhD

Dr. Cheryl Holcomb-McCoy was elected to the WETA Board of Trustees in March 2022. Dr. Holcomb-McCoy is currently the Dean of the School of Education and a professor at American University (AU). She is also the author of the best-selling book School Counseling to Close the Achievement Gap: A Social Justice Framework for Success and her upcoming book, Antiracist Counseling in Schools and Communities. In her five years as Dean, Dr. Holcomb-McCoy founded AU’s Summer Institute on Education, Equity and Justice, and the AU Teacher Pipeline Project, a partnership with the DC Public Schools and Friendship Charter Schools. She is also actively working to develop an antiracist curriculum for teachers-in-training. Read more here.

Jesse Raney Bridges

Jesse Raney Bridges was elected to the WETA Board of Trustees in March 2022. Bridges founded AuthentiCally Aligned LLC and is the former Deputy Director of Global DEI Learning and Development at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She has a successful track record of architecting the role of the DEI Strategist and is a subject matter expert on shaping inclusive and equitable workplaces in higher education institutions and K12 schools.


Jorge A. Plasencia

Jorge Plasencia was elected as a General Director of the PBS Board in December 2021. Plasencia is co-founder, chairman and CEO of Republica Havas, one of America's leading and fastest-growing creative, media, and communications agencies. Previously, Plasencia was Vice President and Operating Manager at Univision Radio, leading the integration and cross-platform strategies of Univision's television, audio and digital properties. Prior to Univision, Plasencia was Vice President at Estefan Enterprises, Inc., overseeing marketing, strategy, and communications, and serving in management and business affairs for major recording artists, including Gloria Estefan and Shakira. Indra Nooyi

In September 2021, the National Gallery of Art Board of Trustees elected former PepsiCo executive Indra Nooyi as a new trustee. In her role as Chairwoman and CEO, Nooyi was the chief architect of Performance with Purpose, PepsiCo’s pledge to do what’s right for the business by being responsive to the needs of the world. As part of Performance with Purpose, PepsiCo focused on delivering sustained growth by making more nutritious products, limiting its environmental footprint and protecting the planet, and empowering its associates and people in the communities it serves. Tom Calderone

The Buffalo Toronto Public Media Board of Trustees selected as its new President and CEO – Tom Calderone, media and entertainment executive who has held leadership positions with Spotify, VH1, and MTV. Calderone assumed his role on Aug. 2, 2021. He served as the Global Head of Content Partnership and Global Head of Studios for Spotify, pioneering the company’s expansion into new areas of audio and video content, including podcasts and mobile-friendly video series. For 10 years (2005-2015), Calderone was President of VH1/Viacom, during which he led the organization into the Top 5 cable channels for adults 18-49 years old. He was Executive Vice President of Music & Talent Programming at MTV/Viacom from 1998 to 2005, during which he introduced new programming such as Total Request Live, MTVIcon, and music documentaries.

Paul Cheung

Paul Cheung, a veteran journalist and leading advocate for innovative change in media, was named chief executive officer of the Center for Public Integrity in July 2021. He’ll lead one of the nation’s oldest nonprofit investigative news organizations as it builds the leading source of journalism focused on the causes and effects of inequality in America. Cheung joins Public Integrity from the Knight Foundation, where for the past three-years, he managed a multi-million dollar investment portfolio to scale AI, improve business sustainability, and mitigate misinformation as the director of journalism and technology innovation. Previously, he led cross functional teams of journalists, technologists, data-scientists and interactive producers at NBC, The Associated Press, Wall Street Journal and Miami Herald. Read more here.

Marvin Irby

Marvin Irby was elected to serve as a General Director of the PBS Board of Directors on March 24, 2021. Irby is Chief Financial Officer and Chief People Officer of the National Restaurant Association. Prior to assuming this role in 2010, Marvin served as the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Shawmut Design & Construction, as well as holding several financial VP roles for the Walt Disney World Resort, along with several financial executive roles at Pepsico. He has been recognized as a “2007 Top 50 Under 50” corporate executive by Diversity Magazine, been recognized as a DCA-Live top CFO twice and was the Association Trends 2013 Non-Profit CFO of the Year. His leadership at the National Restaurant Association resulted in its recognition as a “DC Top Workplace” in 2014. He also recently served as the Association’s Interim-President & CEO in 2020. Gunjan Kedia

Gunjan Kedia was elected to serve as a General Director of the PBS Board of Directors on December 10, 2020. Kedia is Vice Chair of U.S. Bank Wealth Management and Investment Services and a member of the U.S. Bank Managing Committee, its senior most leadership group. Prior to joining U.S. Bank in 2016, Kedia held leadership positions at State Street Financial in Boston, where she served as executive vice president and led the investment servicing business in the Americas; BNY Mellon, where she was head of global product management; and McKinsey & Company, where she was a partner and a core leader of the financial services practice. Charles “Chuck” Redmond

Charles Redmond was selected as trustee of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund in late 2020. Redmond is is the Vice President of Finance and Operations at Venture Philanthropy Partners (VPP), a venture capital-style philanthropic organization based in Washington, D.C. investing in high-performing nonprofit organizations focused on children and youth. Chuck joined the VPP team in 2017 to lead the firm’s business support functions and long-term strategic planning. His responsibilities include budgeting and planning, financial reporting, and managing the use of funds for VPP investments to ensure that capital deployed is achieving target outcomes. Cathy Belk

Cathy Belk was appointed the President and CEO of Deaconess Foundation and assumed her new position on October 12, 2020. Belk came to Deaconess Foundation after serving as President of JumpStart, a Cleveland-based non-profit unlocking the full potential of entrepreneurship to transform entire communities. Under the leadership of Belk and her colleagues, JumpStart’s entrepreneurs contributed $6 billion in economic impact, raised more than $2B in additional capital, and created more than 10,000 good jobs; 45% of its entrepreneurial clients were women or people of color. Belk has also spent more than 20 years in the private sector, creating impact by stewarding brands and developing new businesses at Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, and American Greetings. She started her career in middle-market finance at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC and in the greater DC area. Read more here.

Tania Menesse 

Tania Menesse was selected by the Board of Directors for Cleveland Neighborhood Progress (CNP) as its new President and CEO on October 6, 2020. Menesse will be leaving her current role as Director of Community Development for the City of Cleveland at the end of October and subsequently assuming her new position with CNP. At the City, she was responsible for the city’s housing and neighborhood commercial redevelopment programs and its efforts to develop neighborhood strategies. During Menesse’s tenure at the city, she led Cleveland’s equitable development taskforce, started the Middle Neighborhoods initiative, was an active participant in establishing the Lead Safe Home Fund and initiated the city’s Ten-Year Housing and Investment Plan. Timothy L. Tramble Sr.

The Saint Luke’s Foundation appointed Timothy L. Tramble Sr. as its new President and CEO. Widely respected for his mission-driven leadership in empowering citizens of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County who have been most impacted by racial and economic inequity, Tramble joins the Saint Luke’s Foundation after serving 20 years as Executive Director of Burton Bell Carr Development, Inc. (BBC). During his tenure, Tramble substantially grew BBC’s financial capacity while successfully building a coalition of allies and partners to support community revitalization initiatives, projects, and programs for positive transformation without displacement or gentrification. Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen

Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen was elected as a new trustee of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. in the spring of 2020. Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen is a founder, educator, and best-selling author who empowers women to pursue leadership roles and encourages people to make an impact – in their communities, workplaces and society – by sharing their time, expertise, networks or resources. She is the founder and chairman of the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (Stanford PACS), and the Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen Foundation (LAAF.org), and founder and chairman emeritus of the Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund (SV2). Laura’s New York Times Best Seller, Giving 2.0: Transform Your Giving and Our World, encourages people of all backgrounds to give with greater intent and impact.

Mildred Garcia, PhD

Mildred Garcia was elected as a General Director of the PBS Board on September 23, 2020. She is President of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). As AASCU's president, Dr. García is an advocate for public higher education at the national level, working to influence federal policy and regulations on behalf of nearly 400 member colleges and universities; serving as a resource to presidents and chancellors as they address state policy and emerging campus issues; developing collaborative partnerships and initiatives that advance public higher education; directing a strategic agenda that focuses on public college and university leadership for the 21st century; and providing professional development opportunities for presidents, chancellors, and their spouses. She is the first Latina to lead one of the six presidentially based higher education associations in Washington, D.C. Read more here.

Steven Nelson, PhD

Professor Steven Nelson was appointed as Dean for the Center for the Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA) at the National Gallery of Art. Nelson will become CASVA’s third dean since its founding in 1979 and will succeed Elizabeth Cropper, who will retire in late May 2020. Nelson will begin his tenure in July. As dean, Nelson’s key duties will include leadership, scholarship, and fundraising for CASVA. Dean of CASVA is one of seven executive officer positions at the Gallery, reporting to Feldman. Nelson will participate in policy-making and strategic objectives for not only CASVA but also the entire Gallery. He will lead research in art history on an international level, fostering all CASVA programs and advancing their quality in philosophy and detail. Read more about Nelson’s appointment here.

Katherine C. Luber, PhD

Katherine Crawford Luber has been selected to be the Minneapolis Institute of Art next Nivin and Duncan MacMillan Director and President. Luber comes to Minneapolis from the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA), the only encyclopedic fine art institution in south Texas, where she has served as the Kelso Director for the last eight years. Born and raised in Texas, Luber’s pathway to art museum leadership combines traditional educational and work experiences with out-of-the-box aspects that strengthen her management and leadership skills. Prior to arriving in San Antonio, Luber’s other art museum positions included serving as a research associate at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and, for nearly 10 years, as a John G. Johnson Curator of Northern Renaissance and Baroque Paintings at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Luber assumes her new role on January 2, 2020. Read more here.

Darren Walker

Darren Walker, was elected as a new trustee of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. on September 27, 2019. Read more about his announcement here. Darren Walker is president of the Ford Foundation, an international philanthropy with a $13 billion endowment, over $600 million in annual grantmaking and offices in New York City and ten regions around the globe. In 2013, he chaired the philanthropy committee that brought a resolution to the city of Detroit’s historic bankruptcy, securing the future of the Detroit Institute of Arts and the pensions of thousands of the city’s retirees. He is founder and chair of the U.S. Impact Investing Alliance and founder and co-chair of the Presidents’ Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy. Read more about Walker here.

Rev. Jennifer Bailey

Reverend Jennifer Bailey was elected to serve as an individual trustee of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund on December 11, 2019. Jen is an ordained minister who is helping to lead the national multi-faith movement for justice. Named one of “15 Faith Leaders to Watch” by the Center for American Progress, she is the Founder and Executive Director of the Faith Matters Network, which works to provide community conveners, faith leaders, and activists with resources for deeper connection and spiritual sustainability. Jen also co-founded The People’s Supper, which uses shared meals to build trust and connection among people of different identities and perspectives. Since 2017, the People’s Supper has helped host more than 1,500 suppers in more than 120 cities. She is an Ashoka Fellow, Nathan Cummings Foundation Fellow, Aspen Ideas Scholar, On Being Fellow and Truman Scholar. Read more here.


Ethan Lasser, PhD

Ethan Lasser has been appointed as the Chair, Art of the Americas, to oversee the MFA’s world-class collection of paintings, sculpture and decorative arts created throughout North, Central and South America over a span of 3,000 years. He comes to the MFA from the Harvard Art Museums where he served as the Curator of American Art and Head of the Division of European and American Art. At the MFA, Lasser will shape the vision for the Art of the Americas department, leading staff in developing an engaging portfolio of exhibitions, publications, programs and initiatives, deepening relationships with donors, and continuing to build and preserve the collection. Lasser began his role as the Chair, Art of the Americas, in September 2019.

Tanuja Dehne

Tanuja Dehne is the fourth president and CEO of the Dodge Foundation. Dehne's background spans both corporate and nonprofit leadership. She has been an attorney, human resources professional, and community volunteer, and is an expert adviser on board governance practices. Dehne serves on several nonprofit boards of trustees, including New York Public Radio and Lafayette College, and served as senior adviser to the global nonprofit The B Team. She formerly chaired the board of Young Audiences Arts For Learning New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, and also served on the boards of HomeFront of New Jersey and Sustainable Jersey. Dehne assumed her new role on September 9, 2019

Makeeba McCreary

Makeeba McCreary was appointed the Patti and Jonathan Kraft Chief of Learning and Community Engagement, MFA Boston. A native Bostonian, McCreary comes from Boston Public Schools, where she was the Managing Director and Senior Advisor of External Affairs, reporting directly to the Mayor and Superintendent of Schools. She oversaw staff across four departments: Education; Volunteer and Community Engagement; Lectures, Courses and Concerts; and Film. McCreary served as Chief of Learning and Community Engagement from 2019-2021. In 2021, she became president of the New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund (NCF).

Christopher Atkins, PhD

Christopher Atkins is the inaugural Van Otterloo-Weatherbie Director of the Center for Netherlandish Art (CNA), an innovative center for scholarship on Dutch and Flemish art of the early modern period, which will launch in 2020 in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of the MFA Boston's founding. Atkins will set the course for the future of the CNA, the first resource of its kind in the U.S. established by a transformative 2017 gift from longtime MFA supporters Rose-Marie and Eijk van Otterloo and Susan and Matthew Weatherbie. He comes to the MFA from the Philadelphia Museum of Art and brings nearly two decades of experience in curatorial and educational work to this new role. Atkins assumed his new position in August 2019.

Susan Smith Richardson

Susan Smith Richardson, an award-winning editor with over three decades of experience as a newsroom leader producing innovative, powerful journalism, was named Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Public Integrity. Richardson took the helm of one of America’s oldest nonprofit investigative journalism organizations as it celebrated its 30th anniversary. During that time, the Center produced substantive stories that have won some of journalism’s highest honors, including several Pulitzer Prizes. Richardson served as CEO from 2019-2021. After her tenure at CPI, she went on to become Managing Editor for The Guardian US.

Kathleen Enright

Kathleen Enright has been appointed President and CEO of the Council on Foundations. Enright joins the Council after 17 years as President and CEO of Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO). During her tenure, she guided GEO to a programmatically strong and financially healthy position, experience she brings to her new role leading the Council on Foundations. Mari

Kuraishi

Mari Kuraishi was selected by the trustees of the Jessie Ball duPont Fund to be the Fund’s next president. Kuraishi is co-founder and former president of GlobalGiving. GlobalGiving is a pioneering global crowdfunding platform for vetted, community-led organizations. Since its founding in 2002, the Washington, D.C.-based company has supported more than $340 million in giving by more than 814,000 donors to more than 20,000 projects worldwide. Kuraishi began her new position in January 2019.

Sonal Shah

On October 26, 2022, Sonal Shah was announced as the next CEO of The Texas Tribune. A first generation immigrant, Shah possesses decades of experience across the nonprofit, public and private sectors, and she has started and led social impact efforts in academia, government, and the private and philanthropic sectors for over 25 years. Previously, Shah served as interim executive vice president, worldwide network advancement, at United Way Worldwide. She also founded The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) in Houston, and founded and led Georgetown University’s Beeck Center for Social Impact and Innovation. She served as director of the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation in the Obama administration, as an international economist at the Department of the Treasury, and as national policy director for Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaign. In the private sector, Shah led technology initiatives and impact investing globally at Google and Goldman Sachs. Read more here.
